Leavens Awards

I needed some decent full resolution shots of Leavens Awards for a piece I might do on it in the future, so I headed there the other day in the 90 degree weather. I've been watching this place decay and begin to fall in on itself since I started going in 2006, and each time I visit there's something new to see.

Fireworks From Balfour

I knew there was to be a fireworks display on the evening I took these, but hadn't quite figured out where I was going to shoot them from by the time I left my house. I finally decided Balfour, while not as close to the display as I'd have liked, would be tall enough to see them from so Balfour it was. I got to the roof just in time for the first fireworks to go off, and realized my seat was ideal for the show. After the fireworks had ended, I shot the interior for a bit before taking off.

Foxboro State B&W

Cambria, Saceist, and I were bored the other day, so we decided to swing by the old Foxboro State Hospital to see what had changed. The hospital building itself has been turned into apartments, but many of the outbuildings still stand dormant. We spent a few hours checking out the theater, power plant, nursing quarters, and the cafe. It still amazes me, that even after the remodeling of the hospital, these buildings are still kicking.
