State Of Disrepair

I had made a post about this historical Attleboro cemetery being in a state of disrepair all the way back in 2007. (http://ade07.blogspot.com/2007/02/disrepair-cemetery-22307.html)

I was reading the local newspaper the other day, The Sun Chronicle, when I came across this article. (Attleboro Cemetery Vandalized)

Needless to say, it pissed me off. I knew the damage was going to be bad, but judging by the photos sent to me by a friend, I never would have guessed the damage to be anything like what I found. The article wasn't exaggerating. More than 50 gravestones toppled for no reason. The lack of respect for both the dead, and history in general is sickening.

These photos are all only from one half of the cemetery. By the time I arrived to shoot photos, the sun had gone down, and the spotlight in the cemetery only lit up this half. That being said, it gives you a bit more of a realization of how bad the damage was...this was only one half of The Old Kirkyard Cemetery.

The Lot Where The Lab Was

While driving somewhere else a week or so ago, I noticed the demolition of the old Walton & Lonsberry factory had not only begun, but was almost finished. I didn't have time to stop by that day, so I went on my way, completely forgetting about it until last night. Once I remembered, I grabbed my camera and headed out around 3AM to see what, if anything, was left. Upon my arrival, the answer was almost nothing. The entire building had been taken down, and they were cleaning up the old lagoon where the factory was known to have dumped chemicals for years. The EPA apparently doesn't waste any time once they start a clean up project nowadays.

Located at the bottom of this post are a number of links to other photo sets I've shot at this location over the past few years.

Here are the photos I took last night.

Meeting In A Drain

Allsion and Turrel had plans to be in the area the other day, so we decided to head to the DeadEnd drain. Before leaving, I left a sketchy message on the Facebook wall of another local drainer I'd yet to meet in person. The message stated: "Go down to the drain that dead ends today. We're gonna be down there in an hour or two."
I didn't actually expect him to show, but about half hour into us being in the drain, we heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps coming down the drain towards us. I yelled out to him, and it was then we met Mike, and some of the other guys from A.S.T.
We hung out for a few hours, crawled some pipes, and took some photos. Pretty good dudes. All around good time.
