It's hard to believe this EPA clean-up site was once home to one of my favorite abandoned factories. Walton & Lonsbury was a local chromium plating company that was torn down this past winter. I've lived down the street from this place nearly all my life, so I still find it interesting to follow it through the complete stages of demo and clean-up. The building is gone, and all that remains is the dug up lagoon where the factory used to dump its chemicals while the location was in operation. Took a walk down there around 3AM the other morning, and here's what it looks like now. You can find more about this location here: http://abandoneddreams2010again.blogspot.com/2010/12/lab-clean-up.html
