Cleaning Peck For Earth Day

The Peck Cemetery, hidden in the woods behind a CVS in Attleboro, MA is a location that is not new to Abandoned Dreams. In 2010, we held a clean-up of the long unkempt burial plot. You can find the story on that HERE.

For Earth Day this year, Cambria and I decided to head down and give her a touch up. After only a year, it was clear once again, the local Historical Preservation Society did not care enough about this gem to keep her in decent shape. There were large tree branches scattered throughout the cemetery, weeds were growing out of control, and there was almost a foot of compressed leaves all over the plot.
We had a picnic and spent the next six hours cleaning the historic cemetery of trash, leaves, branches, and weeds. We planted grass and flowers throughout, and hopefully this summer, she'll once again look like someone cares.
